While I've found a neighborhood in DC where I fit in completely (I'm more hipster-like than I care to admit), I still feel out of place in a lot of places, particularly because I don't have a strict dresscode at work but I do have to pass through downtown to get there. So while I'm strolling along in my jeans and a nice shirt, I see all the business people in their suits (and usually sneakers gack). DC's weird that way. But I've mostly accepted it and am ok. After all, I never feel particularly judged.
I guess the point of writing all this is just to comment on the level of acceptance I see in New York, which I don't find here - it's a lot more homogenous. Which is fine. But, let's have some creativity, people. I guess it's a good thing I found CapFABB because those awesome people are on the forefront of making DC look good!
*yes, I realize none of these pictures are of the above mentioned fashions. I'm just musing :)
