The charts above reflect the results of a new NBC News / Wall Street Journal Poll -- done between June 1st and 4th of a national sample of 900 registered voters, with a margin of error of 3.27 points.
Those results should hearten Democrats. They show that voters would prefer Democrats control Congress by a 10 point margin, don't think their current representative deserves re-election by a 21 point margin, would be less likely to vote for a candidate who supports Trump most of the time by a 22 point margin, and thinks the country would be better off with more women in office by a 43 point margin.
This should bother Republicans, who currently control Congress. Voters seem ready to kick them out. It's also good that voters want more women in office, since Democrats have a lot of women running this year.
But let me interject a bit of caution. There is a great chance to flip Congress in the coming election, but it will only happen if Democrats (and Independents) flock to the polls in large numbers. If too many stay home, this golden opportunity will be squandered.
