Chemical Brothers- Golden Path
I was at the gym this morning and heard this track and was a little struck that they were playing a song with actual lyricism rather than a ‘banging bassline’ with a constantly repeated phrase over the top like someone had just recorded themselves having a bout of tourettes while they were stuck inside a kettle.
I remembered some of the lyrics and I suppose I was fortunate it was by someone so well known. I’d never listen to the chemical brothers otherwise, I don’t like dance music but I wouldn’t call this dance music. Is there more to them than the ‘tomorrow never knows’ rip off with noel gallagher made in the 90s? I probably won’t find out but well done aging gentlemen, you have made it onto my iPod.
Speaking of iPods, I hear they’re on the way out. Well fuck that, I was still listening to a walkman in 2005 and making mix tapes for my car in 2007 so mine isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
