Siberian Iris © 2015 Patty Hankins
I’ve recently added a new photo – Siberian Iris – to my BeautifulFlowerPictures.com website.
Siberian Irises are one of my favorite flowers to photograph at the local gardens in the spring. In the DC area, they usually bloom in May for a couple of weeks. For some reason, I never managed to get out to the local gardens to photograph them this year. So I was really glad I’d bought some and brought them into my studio earlier this year. As I adjusted the lights for this photo, I wanted to emphasize all the wonderful shades of purple in this delicate flower. The combination of the purple shades on the petals and sepals and the bright yellow patch is one of the best examples of complementary colors I’ve seen. I couldn’t resist photographing it
Siberian Iris is available as a matted print on my website.
