New Music from Weezer, FIDLAR, Florence + The Machine, SATE, Grizfolk, Goodnight, Sunrise, Lauv and Troye Sivan, The Middle Coast, Danielle Todd, and Chyenne May

What a week for new music! I wish I could share all the new music this week but I've capped it at 10 entries. We've got rock, pop, and country songs for you.

Let's call this one a Super Sized New Music Spotlight. Let's do this!

Artist: Weezer
Hometown: Los Angeles, USA
Genre: Alt Rock
Related: Cake, Third Eye Blind, OK Go
Song: No Scrubs
Notes: Announced and released on the same day, The Teal Album was a surprise to everyone. With zero promotion we can only guess that their success with the cover of Toto's Africa may have sparked the idea. There are some tracks which the band or Rivers had covered live in the past, but I have to admit, I kinda lost my mind when Paranoid started playing.

Their cover of TLC's No Scrubs was the buzz on social media and trended on Twitter, and Chilli's response made Rolling Stone. Let's just say she approves and hopes to play together live. There are too many great songs to list them all here but trust me; you need to listen to the whole album.

Artist: FIDLAR
Hometown: Los Angeles, USA
Genre: Rock
Related: The Glorious Sons, The Babies, Black Lips
Song: Can't You See
Notes: Can't You See is the first video release from the brand new FIDLAR album. Almost Free is a fun, compelling treatment blending storytelling, Hollywood movie making and a lyric video treatment. It's well done, and I love this track as the lead single.

Artist: Florence + The Machine
Hometown: London, UK
Genre: Rock
Related: HAIM, Of Monsters and Men, St. Vincent
Song: Moderation
Notes: Moderation is a piano driven track with that classic powerhouse Florence + The Machine feel. It boasts beautiful harmonies, a great chorus and a fun conversational feel. "Want me to love you in moderation / Do I look moderate to you?"
I love this track and its energy.

Artist: SATE
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Genre: Rock
Related: Deap Vally, The Kinks
Song: Dirty Little Lie
Notes: Toronto-based artist, SATE is always a force to be reckoned with, and in her latest video release she sports latex, horns and platinum braids. Black, white and red strike a chord and the video pulls us in. It's glitchy and distinct. A visual that will stay with you and the chorus that's stuck in our head.

Artist: Grizfolk
Hometown: Los Angeles, USA / Sweden
Genre: Alt Rock
Related: Colony House, Banners, Vinyl Theatre
Song: Heavy Crown
Notes: A mix of nostalgic black and white and colour film clips with the lyrics running at the bottom like a karaoke tune, this video is charming. I love the feel of this song, the sound is soothing but the lyrics are anything but. Grizfolk is touring through to the end of March in the US.

Watch for Lauv and Troye Sivan who'll be performing I'm So Tired on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on February 6th.

Artist: Chyenne May
Hometown: Vancouver, BC
Genre: Country
Related: Kira Isabella, Lauren Alaina, Madeline Merlo
Song: Forever and Ever
Notes: Debuting at #64 on the iTunes Top 100 County Chart, Forever and Ever showcases Chyenne's clear, strong voice. The piano and guitar are simple and the lyrics are relatable. It's a strong debut single from this young teenaged artist.
