Ready? Let's go!

Artist: Sam Roberts Band
Hometown: Monreal, QC
Genre: Rock
Related: Moist, Matthew Good, The Trews
Song: Youth
Notes: From the upcoming album All Of Us (October 16, 2020), Sam Roberts Band has given us Youth to kickoff the weekend. The celebrated Montreal rockers keep us engaged in what they've got going on with this one - and the "you're only young once, it won't last forever" is about as true as there ever was in music.

Artist: Andrew Hyatt
Hometown: Sudbury, ON
Genre: Country
Related: Dallas Smith, Shawn Austin, Dean Brody
Song: Neverland
Notes: Neverland is the newest from Andrew Hyatt, and he continues to show that he can be one of the realist in the genre. The heart of country music is in story songs that can either make you feel like you aren't alone, or make you realize something you hadn't thought of before. Neverland here's for either one of those things if you need it.

On Instagram, Hyatt wrote this about Neverland: This one is for the dreamers
Those who choose the loneliness of the unknown over the comfort of the known
This one is for the 14 year old kid who's up till 2 am writing songs in their parents basement because the fire in their belly won't let them sleep until it's all down on paper.
For those with dreams who are too scared to jump
This is an anthem to drown out the doubters, the naysayers and the critics who are too scared to believe in dreams.
You can be anything you want to be. Trust the fire in your belly and drown out the noise.

Artist: Virginia to Vegas
Hometown: Guelph/Toronto, ON
Genre: Pop
Related: Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine, Tyler Shaw, Scott Helman
Song: Palm Springs (the way you made me feel)
Notes: Virginia to Vegas gets nostalgic for new love in the desert on Palm Springs (the way you made me feel). The new single from the Toronto-based, JUNO-nominated, pop singer follows the release of his a constant state of improvement album release earlier in the year, and already has me looking forward to the next album.

Artist: Sons of Daughters
Hometown: Vancouver, BC
Genre: Country
Related: The Reklaws, Wes Mack, Jessica Mitchell
Song: Drinks Well With Others
Notes: In a year filled with downs, Drinks Well With Others is a fun one that makes us miss bars and strangers and good times without concern. Sons of Daughters have the talent and charm and they keep adding songs to their library that will turn listeners into fans. Turn this one up and smile.

Artist: David James ft. Genevieve Fisher
Hometown: Winnipeg, MB / London, ON
Genre: Country
Related: Aaron Goodvin, Bobby Wills, Madeline Merlo
Song: Then There's You
Notes: Earlier in 2020, David James released Then There's You on his EP, If I Were You ... and then he brought on Genevieve Fisher to work on the song and the pair have re-released the song with a new twist, great depth and vocal chemistry. Both of these country artists should be on your radar, and if it takes this song to put them there, so be it!
