Google officially announced the launch event of the Moto X smartphone in New York City.

“Come experience the new Motorola. No Stage. No Crowds.”, says the invitation for the event that will take place on Thursday, August 1st, New York City. No time frame has been stated whatsoever.

Invitation For The Event: Moto X

A highly anticipated Android smartphone, Moto X, has been the topic of numerous speculations for the past several weeks, especially since the leaked photo appeared online, showing Eric Schmidt using nothing less than this very phone. What we know so far is that Moto X device is set to work with Google’s next-generation Android software and that will introduce the unique set of sensors, special camera features and much more.  According to some reports, Moto X will feature a 4.5 or 4.7-inch screen, a 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 Pro processor, a 10-megapixel camera. It will probably come with 16 GB storage and 2 GB of RAM.

Moto X is expected to be a customizable smartphone, offering even 16 colors and several materials and finishes. This whole idea of customization seems to be very appealing to the smartphone users. Since Motorola had announced earlier this year that Moto X will be assembled in the U.S., delivery of the customized models to the American users will be handled more quickly.

We are looking forward to August 1st! Are you?
