The ultra-cool, trend-setting label, I OH YOU, based in Melbourne, Australia represents the likes of Snakadaktal, Violent Soho, DZ Deathrays, City Calm Down and The Bleeding Knees Club. Needless to say, they know what they’re doing. As a result, it’s pretty easy to guess that their latest signees, DMA’s, will be gracing your laptop screens and speakers very soon.
The band hails from Newtown, Sydney, and although they’ve never played a live show together, and this is their very first example of a professional recording, DMA’s is guaranteed to soon be the biggest bangin’ band around town. The first snippet off their forthcoming (end of March release) EP is the single “Delete”, a song that starts out as a slow burning guitar ballad and turns into a full-pelt, heart-wrenching, punk-love gesture. The trio is made up of Tommy, Matt and Johnny, all three of whom are featured in the accompanying video clip. I can’t help but think there’s a bit of a Brit-pop influence here. Check it out for yourself.
