New Beauty Discovery: Coola

By Scorpiondisco @scorpiondisco

For me, discovering amazing new beauty brands - especially products that are made from organic ingredients, smell delish, and not only repair but protect my skin - is akin to uncovering buried treasure, so I was downright thrilled when I scored a bag full of Coola's Made-in-San Diego goodies at NYFW last month to test out.
I've tried countless moisturizers from some of the top (read: expensive!) brands in the world that literally make me feel like an extra in the Paris Hilton version of House of Wax, so I'm always on the lookout for a product that is weightless - and residue-less, but also earns its keep by improving my skin. And, although I'm only in my 20's, one of my best friends is an aesthetician, so I know to protect my skin now by staying moisturized and using SPF religiously to prevent lots of backtracking when I'm older.

Top: Environmental Repair Kit, $138; Bottom: Liplux balms, $12 each and Mineral Sunscreens, $36 each.
The Coola line of BB and CC creams is super light and fresh - you wear it, it doesn't wear you. I love the range of fragrances, like Rose and Cucumber, although it also comes in unscented.
Feels good, check. Smells good, check. But how does it look?
Ask any makeup artist that I've ever worked with on a shoot, and my number one request for the models I work with is "Dewey, Dewey, Dewey!" Coola achieves just that, clogged pores and yucky residue not included.

What you need to try, Now:

"Environmental Repair Plus" 3 Piece Travel Set, $136; Rose CC Cream with SPF, $36; Liplux, $12;

What You Need to Know:

First of all, I am obsessed with the fact that Coola makes their amazing sunscreens and organic beauty products using - ready? - Solar Power!! Get coola than that??

"Our products are up to 97% certified organic and are manufactured using solar power (we protect from the sun using the power of the sun - and we think that's very COOLA!). In addition to solar powered™, we also incorporate farm to face™ which describes our sourcing policy for local ingredients and vendors. In 2012 we introduced plant protection™ after revolutionizing the use of plant stem cells and plant phyto-protectors to boost sun protection naturally."
Plus, Coola isn't just good to your skin, it's good to animals, reefs, the environment, and your travel plans!

In Their Own Words:
"Our quest is to spoil your sometimes finicky, always worthy skin with the most pure, eco-conscious products possible."
Cheers,
Renata
