It always feels good to finish a group of abstract paintings and then finally see them on my website. Artists of all kinds--painters, musicians, writers--usually have to do their own marketing these days. That means putting your work out there on a website, blog, or other social media.
I'm fortunate in that I enjoy this part of my day--working with Dreamweaver to build and update my website, working with TypePad and WordPress to update my blogs. Artists who aren't comfortable with this process have to hire others to do it for them.
Here are the last two paintings I just put up on my website. They are in an abstract expressionist style--painted spontaneously, mixing colors on the canvas, reacting to the image before me. I used brushes and a palette knife to do these:
