Neeru’s Flagship Store Launched in Delhi by Karisma Kapoor

Fashion and glamour go hand in hand. Be it men, women or children everybody likes to be fashionable and keep up with the changing trends and the latest designs available in the market. The garment retail market in India is huge and when a designer makes a mark for themselves in such a scenario it speaks volumes of their creativity, talent, designing skills and simply shows that the designer has struck the right cord with the customer. The designer being spoken about here is Neeru Kumar who’s brand Neeru’s is one of the leading brands down South. Endorsing the brand and lending glamour to it is none other than Bollywood star Karisma Kapoor who is the current brand ambassador.

Neeru’s came into being in 1971 and since then has become a brand of repute in women’s Indian ethnic wear category. The USP of Neeru’s is it’s reasonable price tag with a variety of products to offer including sarees, lehngas, ready to wear, unstitched suits, mix ‘n’ match and fashion accessories. Besides catering to women’s fashion needs the brand has also launched it’s sub brands Neeru’s Menz (ethnic men’s wear) and Little Neeru’s ( kids ethnic wear). Neeru’s is already available in many Indian cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Vizag, Vijaywada, Mysore, Pune and Mumbai and finally made its mark in Delhi too.

I was introduced to Neeru’s by my sister who lives in Bangalore and during several visits to the city I have enjoyed either purchasing or browsing through their collection. Over the years I noticed their expansion down south and wondered why we don’t have a Neeru’s here in Delhi. After opening Neeru’s in Mall of India, Noida, finally the brand is in now in Delhi too. I was invited to attend the launch of their new flagship store in the easily approachable upmarket shopping location on Padam Singh Road Karol Bagh. The store inauguration was done by none other than the brand ambassador Karisma Kapoor. The entire road leading to the store was choc ‘o’ block with eager customers and fans. People were equally excited about the opening of the store as they were to see the Bollywood queen.

Karisma Kapoor looked resplendent in a Neeru Kumar soft blue gown. Beautifully crafted with lovely embellishments, the star carried the outfit with such elegance and grace doing complete justice to the brand. The crowd broke into a frenzy when she obliged to dance a bit to a popular song from one of her Bollywood movies. A lovely brand, a beautiful actress, a stunning gown and her elegant dance moves made for a glamorous evening. When I asked Karishma Kapoor what the brand Neeru’s signifies to her she said “I like the fact that it is a family run brand that has built itself up over the years”. She added, “here we would get something not just for you and me but for our grandmothers too”… and looking at the merchandise available she is so right.

The flagship store spread over 3200 square feet has two 2 levels with one being a completely bridal and trousseau wear floor. The upper level offers formal wear, mix n match , children’s wear ( they have clothes for 2 year old’s and upwards), Neeru’s signature collection consisting of tunics, tops, skirts n tops, gowns etc in rayon, chiffon cotton and georgettes dominate the scene in this category which is happy and vibrant.

In today’s times we as customers are always looking for good clothing in terms of silhouettes, prints, colors, workmanship, a designer brand becomes an added attraction and the brand being available at a reasonable price tag is simply irresistible.
