2014 is nearly at an end and I have decided to do a look back at the highlights from each month so grab a cuppa and settle down as this is going to be a long one!!!
January
I kicked the year off by taking part in Body Confidence Week which was great fun and a good way to start the year, it even saw me post pictures of my comfy clothes! One of the posts from Body Confidence Week
Now I did manage to inject some glamour into the month with an amazing dress from the Claire Richards range from Fashion World! (It was so cold when I took these photos!!)February
As Valentines Day was fast approaching I decided to treat you all to a post about my first ever Babydoll from Curvy Kate! Props to them for launching babydolls up to a size K as this made me very happy (and husband was quite pleased too!).It was also the month that I discovered a fab coat in the New Look Sale and I now realize I need to wear this coat more often!
March
This month saw me take part in the Tiara Selfie Challenge which was the brainchild of Leah from Just Me Leah. The idea was we would all pose in Tiaras, so I dug my wedding tiara and veil out for a selfie! The rest of the month was a busy one as I took part in the 30 days 30 dresses challenge and during this it became apparent just how many dresses I actually own!! I think my favorite one is my old faithful £10 Primark dress!
April
I bought my first ever and only item from AX Paris Curve this month after much deliberation and then it being reduced by Simply Be! This not a dress for the faint hearted but I do love it despite the fact that I nearly didn't keep it!Another outfit that was well received this month was from the Shop Your Stash challenge, and included a top that I had put on the Ebay pile but then rescued!
May
This was the month that I bought a dress from the lovely Toni over at The Left of Perfect and it has become a one of my favorite dresses to wear. The ASOS Curve Floral Smock Dress!June
My birthday month which also saw me finally get my hair cut with the now well known undercut!I also suffered a bit of a body confidence wobble during this month so to make myself feel better I threw on a crop top, a skirt and rocked that VBO!
July
This was a difficult month as we found out that my husband was being made redundant from his job of 27 years and I will admit that at first I really fell apart and felt like I was falling into an abyss. What I discovered though was how much support I have from family, friends and the blogging community as everyone offered help, advice or just words of comfort. The good news is that he was offered another job and we still have a roof over our heads and food in the fridge so all is good!Anyway on to happier things and this was the month that ASDA outdid themselves with their maxi dresses this year.!
I also decided to be fat and happy (this is also one of my most popular posts on Tumblr) in a crop top!!
August
I decided to take part in Outfit August which was organised by Leah from Just Me Leah and this meant I had to post an outfit a day during August- no mean feat but I just about managed it!!The highlight of August had to be Style XL which was organised and hosted by Leah from Leah XL and took place in Leicester. It was a fantastic day where I got the chance to walk the catwalk, see lots of lovely fellow bloggers and came home with a suitcase full of new clothes! This was my favorite dress from TopsyCurvy!
September
I was lucky enough to win a voucher from the lovely Natalie over at A Wheelbarrow Full of Style which I used to buy a fab dress from Dorothy Perkins.I was also lucky enough to work with New Look and chose a lovely floral blazer which made this outfit.
October
For the first time since I started blogging I set up my own challenge for October- Blogtober (which a lot of people do in various forms) I chose a theme for each day and even made a little logo! I had hoped to complete it but illness and work being busy meant I didn't manage to post every day but on the flip side I met some new bloggers. There were two fashion highlights this month, the first belonging to a lovely dress from Pink Clove.
The second was an old swing dress from ASOS that I dug out and teamed with my Henry Holland jacket and NattyNikki necklace (this I wear whenever I need cheering up!).
November
This month I headed off to my first ever Fabb Event with the lovely Sara from Walking With Angels, it was held at the Custard Factory in Birmingham and was a fantastic afternoon. I got to see new beauty brands and I even tried out the fake tan I was given for my Christmas Party!! The goody bag was out of this world and has introduced me to new products. If you get the chance I would certainly go along to one of these events.I also found the most perfect duffle coat from ASDA this month which I have worn and worn and worn!!!
This was a bargain £20!
Simply Be asked my husband to style me for a Christmas party this month which was huge fun and well he did very well!!
To finish off the month I reviewed a lovely babydoll from Plus Size Lingerie Boutique!
December
Another exciting month which got off to the most amazing start when I went to meet Tess Munster when she did a meet and greet at Yours Clothing in the Bullring. It was a brilliant day, Tess was lovely and I was surrounded by some awesome blogging babes. The highlight of the day was surprising Tess by all trying on the dress she was wearing and then having a group photo taken!Next on the agenda was the PSBloggers Sheffield Christmas meet up which had been organised by Leah from Leah XL. Another fab day with so many blogging babes but special mention has to go to Kim from Call Me Kim for driving us there. Simply Be treated us to a VIP afternoon and I made some cheeky purchases (posts on those coming in the new year). We also all came home with a fabulous goody bag as well!
This will be my final post of 2014 so I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy new year I hope 2015 treats you all well.
I want to say thank you to everyone who stops by to read my blog I really appreciate all the comments on here, Twitter, IG Facebook etc. I also want to say thank you to everyone who got me through what were some very difficult times this year in particular my family who have been amazing and Leah from Just Me Leah who sent me an angel and I am sure it is looking after us!
