A survey conducted by MOMA Foods has revealed that the nation's favourite breakfast is cereal.
The survey which asked 'What is the UK's favourite breakfast?' had over 2,200 participants whose average age was 44 years old. The number one breakfast was cereal which gained 21% of the vote with 455 making it their top choice.
The second favourite breakfast was a Full English which gained 19% of the vote and had 415 people choosing it. In third place was Toast which had 14% of the vote with 314 people selecting it.
The least favourite breakfasts from the survey were Bircher, which had 6 votes, English Muffin with 12 votes, and Smoothie with 14 votes. Other breakfast choices that got only 1% of the vote included Granola, Crumpet, and Smoked Salmon.
The survey showed that the top choice of breakfast for Women was cereal with 294 votes, while the top choice of breakfast for Men was a Full English which gained 208 votes. The second choice for Men was cereal, while the second choice for Women was toast.
While cereal was most popular in the majority of locations, Full English was the top choice in Northern Ireland. There was no more than one person who chose Bircher as their favourite breakfast in any location.
