My Zelda Wii U Wish List

The next installment in The Legend of Zelda series is expected to arrive on the Wii U in 2015 and it looks INCREDIBLE! The next Legend of Zelda installment was shown at Nintendo's E3 Digital Event and it looked very impressive. With beautiful visuals, a massive open world, and a unique art style, Zelda Wii U looks like another excellent entry into this legendary franchise. Waiting for this game is going to be awful, but I thought I would share what I want to see from the next Zelda title. Hyrule- I'm curious to see how grand and deep the world of Hyrule will be. Eiji Aonuma, the director of the Zelda series, spoke about how we can travel anywhere in the world. Aonuma also spoke of how the Wii U can finally allow players to experience a truly massive open world. Previous Nintendo consoles lacked the power to create the open world Aonuma has had in mind. I want Hyrule to be unique for every player in different ways. I want Zelda Wii U to feature the greatest world we have ever seen - full of unique dungeons and dark, ominous caves.
Story- I want a deep story that is full of adventure. I want to feel the same sense of joy I felt when I first played Ocarina of Time. I want a story that the player can dictate and they are not limited in any way. Zelda is about freedom and exploration - why not let the players decide their stories? Each player could have a different experience but finish with the same outcome. Memorable characters and side quests would add to the experience as well. Who doesn't love Tingle?! And who does not love weird encounters with characters while adventuring though Hyrule? These moments enhance the experience and cause us to ask ourselves "What the heck just happened?" Link- I'm curious to see what the new Link will be like. I've heard rumors of Link being a female, which sounds awesome. If Link were to be a female, I would want her to be similar to Lara Croft in the sense of growth as a character. I would want this Link to grow from a scared, weak person, to a brave, persistent hero. Link's gender does not mean anything to me, as long as they are a fun character to play as. I really liked the look of this Link from the trailer we saw. Link looks like a lone wanderer who is ready to face any challenge he or she may come across. This Link, in my opinion, does not look like they have just completed their first rodeo; Link looks powerful and does not show remorse when going for the kill. Link looks awesome!
Weapons & Gadgets- I want awesome swords and cool gear that makes exploring more fun. Zelda Wii U should do what A Link Between Worlds did with its gadgets - allow players to use anything they please to complete a dungeon. It feels fresh and provides freedom of choice for the player. It's awesome finding the bow in a dungeon, but not having to wait until that dungeon to use the bow is even better, in my opinion. I want Link's sword to be a beautiful blade that can slice through enemies with ease.
My wish list for Zelda Wii U is a lot, but I want the best for a game that I expect to be the best. Zelda Wii U looks epic and I am very confident that we will receive an extraordinary game. Are you excited for Zelda Wii U? What do you want to see in this game?
