I’m doing three things this weekend: attending the grand opening of Ellehcor Design Boutique in Capitol Heights, stopping through the 9th Annual Open Studio Tour in Hyattsville, and buying a waffle-maker, mostly in that order.
Friday, May 10th at 6:30pm at 8837 Walker Mill Road in Capitol Heights MD marks the debut of Ellehcor Design Boutique. Owner and operator Rochelle Wilson is excited about this new endeavor and I am too because it gives Prince Georgians another non-big-box business to support. I’ll be blogging live from the opening so stay tuned to my Twitter and Facebook feeds for pictures, quotes from the attendees, and more. If you’d like more information on the boutique, contact them at the Facebook page HERE or phone, (301) 836-1046
The 9th Annual Open Studio Tour, presented by the Gateway Community Development Corporation, is opening at 12 noon on Saturday May 11th with the Pan Masters Steel Orchestra. Isn’t that just a kick! I’m excited about going, even though I’m still waiting to hear if I’m an official “invited guest.” You can’t blame a blogger for trying to get a lil shine can you? Hahahaaa! Centered in the Gateway Arts Center 3901 Rhode Island Avenue, Mt. Rainier, MD, the Open Studio Tour will provide a shuttle bus to its various exhibit and open house locations. RESERVE your seat on the shuttlebus at Eventbrite by clicking HERE or copy and past this address: http://gatewayopenstudiotourshuttle.eventbrite.com/#
This highly popular event showcases professional artists representing nearly every visual arts medium. You’ll have access to art galleries, studios, cultural centers and performing spaces throughout the Prince George’s County Gateway Arts District.
