Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you. I’m back today after a week of working and writing. I’ve been querying my stories after my writing workshop, so cross your fingers for me. Hopefully, I’ll hear something soon. This morning, I started working on my latest story again. It felt like coming home. It’s a different kind of story, but I’m excited about it. But enough about that. Today, I want to talk about a documentary that I watched this week. It’s on Netflix and it’s titled: “Unknown Number: The High school Catfish.”

It’s the story of a young girl Lauryn who was bullied from an unknown number. She received texts from this number telling her that her boyfriend Owen didn’t love her and that she should break up with him to save him a life-time of grief.
The texts were unrelenting. They even encouraged her to kill herself. The police got involved, and when they couldn’t find the source of the texts the FBI got involved. During the investigation, Lauryn and Owen broke up. These events not only affected the teens they affected their families and their friends. It was traumatic.
When the source of these texts was finally revealed, I was shocked. I won’t reveal the criminal here just in case you want to watch the show. But it just goes to show, you really don’t know the heart of anyone, even those closest to you. I encourage you to watch the show not only to find out who did this to Lauryn, but to see how this type of bullying can systematically break someone down. So, you can recognize the symptoms when you see them. Just in case this happens to one of your kids.
Thanks for stopping by and reading my post. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the documentary. Leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you!
