I will first begin with a small reminder of my old office space, in little ol' South St Paul. You might even remember this post HERE. I was just as nerdy then as I am now and shared the excitement I felt when I got a new desk, back then. Man how I LOVED that desk, I still want that desk in my house- just need to find a couple of movers.
After making the big jump to working from home back in Sept 2010 the guys told me they would NOT be moving that big and heavy desk into the house or EVER again! [insert sad face here]
ANyyywhoooooo- I let it [it being the desk] go and found another desk that would do the trick for a couple of years. That was until I had had it with not having enough room and or "work space" and NEVER EVER being able to find anything- or not having a dedicated spot to put things away!
After a little bit of research on "custom built-in home office spaces" I decided to work with Home Depot in getting my "dream desk" designed! After a couple of appointments w/ one of their kitchen design experts- the plans were set in motion and my new cabinets and countertops were ordered! All I had to do was wait- something I am NOT good at... Oh well, time went quick enough as I am busy with other things and before I knew it the countertops were in and soon to follow were the cabinets!
My new office took up over half the garage for a couple of weeks. We first had to find help to assist Aaron with the install. Ambrose, Aaron's Dad, is really awesome and super handy- so him and Kay were so nice to come up one weekend and help Aaron out!
The weekend of #ProjectOffice was finally here and while the boys got to work, the girls went shopping, naturally!

If I haven't already lost ya... I would love to share with you, my new office!
Let's get started on the photo tour...
While on the topic of this tall counter. I am having a really hard time trying to find two tall stools. I am looking for something with arm rests, a back and they need to be the perfect height. Suggestions welcome!!
Avrie also loves sitting in her sassy seat
And that's it, #ProjectOffice tour complete! It was a big project with a lot of planning, but in the end SO TOTALLY worth it! It is basically a kitchen but without the appliances... why such a large office you ask!? Well, WHY NOT!? ;)
No but for real- working from home, running the entire office and the "behind the scene" stuff takes a lot of organization and a lot of organization requires a lot of space! So... that would be the REAL reason. I love having this big and neat space to keep my "work life" organized. NOW.... working from home has its pros and cons (as i have mentioned in the past HERE) but for real, when you work from home and when you work with family- you NEVER EVER leave work... it's ALWAYS at the back of my mind and requires a lot of extra hours and for me, a lot of late evening work & even working on the weekends too.
AND before you make fun of me for having dual monitors... I have to say that it's SO nice being able to catch up my favorite shows like Grey's while I work! Having Pandora and my "Boys II Men" station easily accessible for the like/dislike buttons is great too! ;)
