My Next Mistake

Camel scallop-edged coat, Veeko; Strapped camisole, River Island; Pineapple print shorts, F&F; Cut-out back pointed toe boots, New Look; Mulberry Bayswater Shoulder in Midnight Navy. Well this is different and yet all the same, isn't it?!
It's actually kinda funny to be finally sharing a new outfit on the blog, especially when this ONE look feels kinda similar to a lot of my older outfits. In reality, my style has already started to shift towards that coveted laid-back sophisti-Scandi aesthetic that I see everywhere in Hong Kong at the moment. Regardless of that, sometimes I wake up and just want a fuss-free, feels-like-home outfit and for me that always involves a camisole. (A.k.a. the devil in HK.)
I met up with Sophia on Saturday for cat cafe shenanigans, a shopping extravaganza and to snap outfit photos. We laughed WAY too much, enjoyed kitty cuddles and took a walk to the park in the bay. This picturesque location is by the waterfront where I live. Suddenly so grateful and amazed every day that I can call this bay my home; my shuttle bus from work stops here so I get to enjoy a walk by the water every evening. Sophia and I both marvelled at how beautiful the gardens are here in Hong Kong - these ones include a rock garden, flower gardens, a pet garden, tennis court and plenty more aside from that!
By the way, we're at that weird winter point in Hong Kong where sometimes we're at 23°C but the air-con game is so strong that you need an indoors coat. I still adore my camel, scallop-edged coat: I can get away with wearing this with a camisole and shorts yet remaining just about right to go about my daily business without doing that 'HELLO I AM VERY BRITISH' thing of complaining about being hot/cold all the time. I'm also obsessed with pairing burgundy and camel at the moment - today I stepped it up by adding navy too. Forgot to photograph today's outfit though... T^T

♥ Also, I'm doing just fine over here ladies. I can't tell you how humbled and lucky I am to have so many supportive people looking out for me. In reply to all of the lovely Tweets and emails: I'm surviving and more, it's a shopping dream, work is kind to me and I feel fairly settled in. I also did a bit of a shopping spree and have a few accidental huge purchases to share soon... Eek!
