My mom got married at the tender age of 20 ,she was fresh out of college. From a small town and into the armed forces... you know ,I am second generation? This is an awesome organization. Really.
She blended so well in this organization, she learnt how to speak in fluent english without her dogri accent.
She taught my sister and me all that we know Today.
From never traveling alone ,she crossed the length of the entire country with a toddler in tow (that was me Btw) when there were no phones ,just telegrams...
She managed...not once , but many times.
She learnt how to cook continental cuisine, breads ,cakes...you name it.
And all without the lifeline of the Internet that we have today. From magazines, from her taste buds and memories and some cook books.
She learnt how to make dresses for her daughters, crochet doilies, bedcovers , table covers , knit sweaters, smock dresses...you name it ,she has done it.
She is an autodidact, learning everything on her own and teaching us...
Mehendi tatoos on our hands , projects, holiday homework-everything she is an expert in. Just like the Godrej Expert , she always excels. Because she is the expert.
