My First “real” Christmas Tree

If your one of those people who waits until the 12th of December to put their tree up, then there's still plenty of time to go out and buy one and if your artificial tree is looking a bit worse for wear after many years stuck in a dirty dusty loft then maybe consider a real tree. Not only a real tree but save the hassle of trying to get one home yourself and consider a delivery from Pines and Needles. They are a premier Christmas company and although based in London, they deliver their trees nationwide via courier and there is still plenty of time to order a real tree.

Trees are sold for both indoor and outdoor use and lots of information about where the trees originate and how they are grown can be found on the website. The indoor trees start at 3ft and go up to a huge 12ft (way to big for my low ceilings).

This year I had already purchased 2 artificial trees. I also have a curious toddler and a kitten so was a little wary on the bigger size trees. Instead I went for the smaller 3ft indoor tree.

The tree came by courier and was really well packaged. It took me half hour or more to remove all the packaging and clips. It was in good condition despite its journey. It arrived in a basic pot which has holes in it, luckily I had a big plastic square planter which had previously been used for shoe storage and seemed perfect.

I haven't got around to measuring the tree but for 3ft it's a really good size and I'd say probably a bit over 3ft. It is really heavy so I'm glad I did not go for the bigger size as would struggle to move or lift. Unpacking is very messy, pine needles everywhere and dirty hands but once up the pine needle drop is minimal.

Being small means it's easy to decorate which my kids were only too happy to do themselves.

Like any plant they do need looking after and watering. Once Christmas is over they can probably be placed outside too.

Prices vary for length of tree. I was also given this cute little table top tree too.
