Though most of the stuff in the books went above my head (I was a bit too young for understanding most of ze big words), I figured out that it was best to choose the books that had stories. To be perfectly honest, he did allow me to read the book on Aesop's Fables and I never really had the heart to tell him I didn't like the stories much (I was a weird kid, after all)

I was more into Ivanhoe and the Three Musketeers and that one with knights and things (I forgot the title). The main reason for my interest in those stories was that I watched the movies on television and wanted to figure out more about the characters.
Anyway, from then on, I started reading the school books I had that contained stories even before school ever got started. Then I learned about the library and I was well on my way to becoming a certifiable bookaholic. The rest, as they say, is ancient history.
I can't imagine not having anything to read... I shudder at the thought. So, there you have it, among my favorite things is reading.
