My Favorite Photos: From a Balloon on Jeju Island

By Theplaceswevebeen @petenewbury

I’ve decided to start posting some of my favorite photos from my travels. From time to time, I will post one photo and give a short description of the photo, and why I like it. Sometimes the reasoning will be for the photo itself, and other times the photo will be one of my favorites because of the significance of the setting, trip, traveling companion, etc… So here goes…

This photo was taken from a balloon “ride” in Seogwipo on Jeju Island, here in South Korea. I say “ride” because the balloon was actually attached to the ground by a cable and it doesn’t go anywhere but up. It’s kind of like putting a bird on a leash. Despite the lack of peaceful air travel, this balloon still provided us with gorgeous views of one of the treasures of South Korea.

This photo is one of my favorites because of the immense amount of green. Between the rice fields and the trees surrounding them, this photo screams green.

Do you have a favorite photo? What makes the photo so special?
