{My Favorite Children's Book: Cathy James}

By Smilinglikesunshine @smilinglikesuns
It's Children's Book Week here and to celebrate it I asked some of my fellow bloggers their favorite children's books.

Cathy is a mum of two and a childminder herself . I love her blog packed full of playful ideas!

Name: Cathy James

My favourite children's book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. It's the very first book I read with both of my daughters, when they were both tiny and just about able to poke their fingers in the caterpillar holes. I love the book because of the beautiful illustrations and because it's both a simple and magnificent story. I also like that there are so many facets of the story which can be explored with the children as you read and it's a great spring board for language, art and other projects.
My elder daughter's favourite book is currently Danny The Champion of the World by Roald Dahl, and she especially loves the idea that Danny and his Dad are up to something daring, dangerous and in fact against the law.
My younger daughter's favourite book is You Can't Eat a Princess by Gillian Rogerson because 'Princess Spaghetti has very curly hair and there's a cake which is really a crown.'
