My Favorite Bath Products for Babies and Kids, Or Adults with Sensitive Skin

By Lindsayleighbentley @lindsayLbentley

I recently wrote about the different toxins found in typical tap water, as well as easy ways to filter them out.

So after spending the money and time making sure that the water for my kid’s bath is healthy, I sure didn’t want to fill it up with chemicals from body products!

I’ve said before, healthy body products are hard to find because it seems that most of them have SO MANY ingredients, and the ones that seem safe are super expensive.

Which is why I was excited to find the baby products by Everyday Shea.  I currently have their Shampoo & Body Wash, as well as the Bubble Bath for my boys.  It smells delicious, thanks to only pure essential oils and fruit extracts, and has not one single offensive ingredient!  Woot!

Here is the ingredient list for the shampoo & body wash:

Aqueous extracts of lemon balm (melissa officinalis) and neem (azaradicha indica), handcrafted shea butter soap* (saponified shea (butyrospermum parkii) butter*, and virgin coconut (cocos nucifera) oil), decyl polyglucose, lavender essential oil, lemon extract, sea salt.

*certified fair trade

The bonus?  It’s affordable!  Not Walmart-generic-brand cheap, but definitely more cost effective than most of the healthy options out there.  (It is $7 for 16 oz, which comes out to $.44/oz)

To be fair, here’s is the ingredient list for Johnson & Johnson’s Head-To-To Baby Wash (I’ve highlighted the offensive ingredients):

It’s around $10 for two 28oz bottles, which comes out to $.18/oz, so less than 1/2 the price, but considering what you are buying, I’ll gladly save money elsewhere:

Water, Cocamidopropyl BetainePeg-80 Sorbitan LaurateSodium Laureth SulfatePeg-150 Distearate, Tetrasodium Edta, Sodium Chloride, Polyquaternium-10, FragranceQuaternium-15, Citric Acid

(basically just a bunch of synthetic surfactants, detergents, code names for polyethylene glycol, and artificial fragrance)

Ok, so finding Everyday Shea is super easy!

You can get them here by clicking the links below for Amazon:

Or here at Vitacost.

I’ve also seen them at Whole Foods and a few other health food stores, although it is generally cheaper to buy online.

I haven’t personally tried the conditioner (will probably need that one down the road for Baby Girl! nor the lotion as we just use coconut oil, but the ingredients in those look great too!

I would also highly recommend these for adults who have sensitive skin!

I hope you love them as much as we do!!
