As soon as I woke up this morning, I knew it was going to be one of those days where all I would want to do would be to lounge around in my sweats, scrape my hair back, no make up and relax. I felt fat, frumpy and just generally 'bleurgh'. We all have these kind of days right?
Anyway, unfortunately the duvet day I was craving wasn't an option as there was an Olympics themed family BBQ I had to attend. Having to get 'dressed up' and pose in endless photographs really wasn't a thought I was relishing feeling the way I did. However, I wasn't too worried as I knew no matter what, I had my trusty 'go to' dress that I could rely on to get me through :)

I picked this little number up in the Topshop sale for just £10. I love it because it cinches you in at all the right places, yet the skirt is so lovely and flowing that it covers up all those little lumps and bumps you want to hide the most. Whenever I'm having an outfit dilemma, I'll grab it - sometimes I'll sling a denim shirt or a little cardigan over the top, and voila! An instant mood lifter! As it turns out, once I arrived at the BBQ I ended up having a wonderful time; as I nearly always find to be the case when I've been a bit blasé about going somewhere. As I've mentioned in previous posts, we've family staying with us at the moment, and my cousin who's here was particularly interested in the Olympic events taking place today as one of her friends from school was competing; Hannah Miley, who made it to the Women's swimming 400m Individual Medley final and came a very creditable 5th. She has apologised since for not making it onto the podium, but I for one would like to congratulate her on her performance - she's just 16! So plenty of time for her to get there yet :)Hope you're all having a lovely weekend! I'd be really interested to know what other people's 'go to' items of clothing are when they're feeling a little lacking in confidence? P.S. Apologies for the lighting in these pics - they were taken just as it was going dark and no matter how much I fiddled with the camera mode, nothing seemed to do the trick!
