My Dorothy Moment

By Winyeemichelle

Win a year’s supply of Dorothy Perkins shoes by sharing your Dorothy moment using #DPShoeSelfie #MyDorothyMoment over on Instagram and Twitter. It's that time of year again when we all whip out the memories, raise a glass and all that other jazz to commemorate another year. Oddly enough, for me this year has been somethin' else. From starting a new job at the beginning of the year to holidaying with best friends that I've known for over 10 years, and becoming a mama to two teeny tiny tortoises to just seizing every opportunity with both hands, 2014 has been a pretty sparkly year, and so when Dorothy Perkins asked me to be involved in their #MyDorothyMoment campaign, I couldn't wait to get started.
I picked out these beautiful white glitter heels and I'm truly smitten with them. They're super flattering, have that oh so covetable pointed toe, and they're just smothered in white based glitter that adds a little somethin' somethin' to all black errthang looks. For me, they're the perfect Dorothy shoe that I'll be wearing to ring in a new year. My Dorothy moment this year is certainly the move. I look back at that week before my flight and I can't believe I was so worried, scared and nervous. All normal thoughts I suppose but I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was doing something none of my friends were also doing - what if everything went wrong, somehow? My Dorothy moment is the moment I realised that things just clicked into place once I landed. I didn't feel homesick, nervous, scared or concerned. I just felt at home (albeit a very different one!) and ready to try a new challenge of sorts.
Dorothy Perkins are currently running a competition where you can win a year's supply of shoes by sharing your own Dorothy moment. To enter, simply literally click your heels together, snap and share a ‘From Where I Stand’ style selfie of your DP shoes on Instagram or Twitter (using #DPShoeSelfie #MyDorothyMoment) and you could be in with a chance of winning!
Good luck, and don't forget to tell me about your Dorothy moment of 2014 in the comments below!
Disclaimer: I was not paid to create this post but Dorothy Perkins kindly gifted these shoes to me to help kickstart the competition. I'm not affiliated with the brand and sadly nor will I be judging.
