I am pleased to say that when I told my friends and family that all I really wanted for Christmas were books, they listened – and just look at this haul of fabulous new books for me to browse through at my leisure during the year!
I received a couple of great recipe books; The Pie Society (I’m sure I’ll find a lot of inspiration for my Pieday Friday blog posts in there!) and The Branded Cookbook where recipes are made using popular branded products such as Heinz, Philadelphia and Nutella. I’ll let you know how I get on with cooking recipes from these books and I’ll be sharing my baking results throughout the year, so keep an eye on my recipes category!
I also got a fantastic stack of craft and sewing books including: Quilting Step by Step, gorgeous fabric-covered The Liberty Book of Home Sewing, cute Granny Chic with fabulous retro photography and old-fashion projects, Beaded Jewellery, blog craft article book You Are Awesome, and the TV series companion book of Kirstie’s Vintage Home.
A couple of seasonal books came my way too including a Cath Kidston Christmas Organiser, and Mollie Makes Christmas published by the popular craft magazine Mollie Makes, which I think I’ll be able to use all year round, not just at Christmas!
Plus I received a few other books that I’ve had my eye on for ages: Caitlin Moran’s funny novel How To Be A Woman, a pair of fashion design books Fashion Looks That Changed the 50s and 60s, Luella’s Guide to English Style and Oink a story about a family living with micropigs (my husband says he forgets why he bought me this, other than thinking that pigs are cute!).
