My 7 Favorite Hostels in Miami

Favorite Hostels in Miami: Miami is a party city. There are simply no two solutions. People come here to go wild, visit night clubs, relax on the beach and drink at night. Although it is not a city that I particularly like, even I admit that they know how to have fun here.

I have been visiting Miami for years. There are many things to consider when selecting a hostel here. The top four to choose the best hostel in Miami are:

  1. Location - Miami is huge and it can take a while to get around. Choose a place at the heart of the sites and the nightlife you want to see. All hostels listed here are located in central locations.
  2. Price - In Miami, you really get what you pay for, so if you go for a really cheap hotel, you will probably get a small, cramped hostel that does not offer great service.
  3. Approvals - Each hostel in town offers free Wi-Fi and many include free breakfast but if you want more than that, be sure to do your research to find the hostel that best meets your needs!
  4. Staff - All the hostels listed here have incredible staff! They are super friendly and knowledgeable. Even if you don't end up in one of the locations listed below, be sure to check the reviews to make sure you end up in a place where the staff are helpful and friendly! They can make or break an inn!

To help you plan your trip, here is my list of hostels in Miami that I like the most. If you don't want to read the longer list below, the following hostels are the best in each category:

Best hostel for budget travelers: SoBe Hostel & Bar
Best hostel for families: Generator
Best hostel for women traveling alone: Rock Hostel
Best hostel for digital nomads: Freehand Miami
Best hostel to party: Miami Beach Hostel or Miami Party Hostel
Best Youth Hostel: Generator

Do you want the specifics of each hostel? Here's my full list of the best Miami hostels:

Price legend (per night)

1. Freehand Miami

For a budget hostel, Freehand Miami really goes above and beyond. They have a pool, yoga classes, shuttles to Little Havana and tours of Key West and the Everglades (among others). It is an upbeat youth hostel with an on-site bar.

Freehand at a glance:

Beds from USD 25 per night, rooms from USD 128.

-> Book your stay at Freehand Miami!

2. Rock Hostel

Another fun hostel is the Rock in the Art Deco district. Breakfast is included and the staff is super friendly. They also organize day trips and excursions (including boat trips) and have an on-site bar and restaurant. They even have a shuttle service if you are coming from the airport.

Rock Hostel in brief:

Beds start at $ 17 US per night.

-> Book your stay at Rock Hostel!

3. Miami generator

While Generator is a chain (and some of their hostels in other countries are not great), this hostel is amazing. They have a pool, restaurant, bar and are minutes from the beach. Although it is the most expensive hostel in town, the beds are more comfortable than the cheap ones you will find at party hostels and the place is clean. They offer bike rentals, private rooms (including rooms for families), and have tons of common areas throughout the hostel.

Generator at a glance:

Beds from USD 42 per night, rooms from USD 109.

-> Book your stay with Generator!

4. Miami Beach International Hostel

If you're looking to party, look no further. This hostel offers free drinks, all-day happy hours, keg nights, and more. Breakfast and dinner are included and the hostel is also very economical (but you will compensate for this by buying drinks without a doubt). The beds are decent and the dorms are basic, but you might be too exhausted (read: drunk) to worry about it. Definitely do not stay here if you are not looking to party.

Miami Beach International Hostel at a glance:

Beds from USD 16 per night

-> Book your stay at Miami Beach International Hostel!

5. Miami Party Hostel

It's all in the name. Offering wild parties, pub crawls and a rooftop restaurant and bar (with shisha), this is clearly a place for budget travelers looking to relax. The beds here are awful but the showers are ok. The beach is close and breakfast is included.

Miami Party Hostel at a glance:

Beds from USD 20 per night, rooms from USD 114.

-> Book your stay at the Miami Party Hostel!

6. Miami Hostel

This inn is conveniently located near grocery stores, a liquor store, and fast food restaurants. They have a large communal kitchen if you need to cook your own food and arrange tours in the area in case you are looking to explore beyond the city.

Miami Hostel at a glance:

Beds from USD 22 per night

-> Book your stay at Miami Hostel!

7. SoBe Hostel & Bar

It is the cheapest hostel in town. Don't expect much. But, if you just want a cheap place to plant, this will do the trick.

SoBe Hostel & Bar at a glance:

Beds from USD 12 per night

-> Book your stay at SoBe!

***Although there are other hostels in Miami, there are the best choices in my opinion. Whether you're looking to party or just want a cheap place to spend the night, you can find what you need, save money and have an amazing visit!
