My 2016 Christmas List.

1.12.16

Dear Santa...
It’s time for the annual, oh so indulgent Michelle’s Christmas List post! These have become somewhat of a tradition here at Daisybutter, not to mention an excellent way of dropping a couple of hints to my family of what I’d like. It’s always a tough pill to swallow that as you get older and begin to earn your own money, your pool of Things Other People Can Buy Me gets smaller, eh? Remember those days of circling your favorite toys in the Argos catalog and being done with it? There was nothing I treasured more than my electronic ‘Dear Diary’ pocket planner and my crystal making kit. Fact.
Nostalgia aside and the festive time bomb ticking, here’s what’s taken my fancy this year, just in case you’re struggling to flesh out your own Christmas list to hand to parents and boyfriends. Or, indeed, if you’re planning to send me a little somethin’ somethin’… ;)

I think the ubiquitous Chanel ballerina flats have made their way onto every single birthday and Christmas wishlist on this blog since records began. And I’m not one to break tradition ;) I’ve been working at investing in staple pieces for almost two years now and there is certainly a Chanel-shaped hole in my shoe wardrobe (aka plastic box kept under my clothing rail).
Surprisingly, this year I’m mostly coveting beauty! I’ve almost completely sworn off buying makeup since moving home to England and I guess my more minimal lifestyle means I’d rather put my money into things I use. After ‘helping’ my best friend select a new Charlotte Tilbury lipstick a few weeks ago, I’m absolutely obsessed with the idea of adding a beautiful rose gold bullet to my own lip kit. A brownish rose is what my heart desires as I’ve already checked off my perfect red in Rimmel’s Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 111. I’m also finally ready to dip my toe into non-YSL Beauty eyeshadow waters and oh so ready to introduce a little Marc Jacobs Beauty palette to my stash. So blooming dreamy.
Last but not least, Christmas simply wouldn’t be Christmas without a fresh perfume and a new calendar or planner, right? After much dithering, I think I’ve settled on the Ban.do planner for my 2017 organisation. I’m still seriously obsessed with the Rifle Paper Co. ones, this adorable Paper Bunny planner and of course the blogger signature Kate Spade diary, but a Ban.do will totally tide me over. And as for fragrances? BYREDO. Always BYREDO. Ever since assisting their Hong Kong launch last year, I’ve been obsessed with Rose of No Man’s Land and I don’t think that obsession will die down anytime soon.
What’s on your list this year?
