My 20 Books of Summer

By Curlygeek04 @curlygeek04

Twenty Books of Summer is back!  It will run from June 3 through August, and basically the challenge is to make a list of 20 books and read those books over the next three months. This year I decided at least 10 of the books need to be ones I already own.  The reason is that I’ve been reading mostly library books; since they always come with a deadline, I always prioritize them.  But I’ve got a lot of books on my Kindle I’d like to read.

This summer we’re going through a big shutdown on our Metro system.  So I’m expecting more time spent on buses than usual — at least that means more reading!

Books for challenges (9):

  • The Warden by Anthony Trollope (Back to the Classics challenge)
  • Human Acts by Han Kang (TBR Pile Challenge)
  • Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter by Tom Franklin (TBR Pile Challenge)
  • The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot (TBR Pile Challenge, Nonfiction)
  • How Dare the Sun Rise by Sandra Uwiringiyimana (Nonfiction Challenge)
  • The Devourers by Indra Das (Reading Women Challenge, Lambda Award winner)

  • See What I Have Done by Sarah Schmidt (last year’s Women’s Prize longlist)
  • Little Deaths by Emma Flint (2017 Women’s Prize longlist)
