#music Nicki Minaj - Anaconda

As weeks go, it has already been a pretty big one for pop, what with Taylor Swift's shabang on Monday, so Nicki Minaj and her big bum planned to steal her thunder. There was an air of secrecy and anticipation leading up to Taylor's event whilst the Young Money rapper has never really done subtle, once again, she kept away from that tactic.
A third album has been spoken about for almost a year and Minaj claimed she'd left her pop sound which saw her explode on to the mainstream (whilst Taylor announced her fifth album, 1989 will be her 'first official pop album') but Pills and Potions, the first track from The Pinkprint had huge crossover appeal. The timing of releases is the only common ground between Taylor and Nicki's returns as Shake It Off is cute and sweet, Anaconda definitely isn't. It's an interesting choice for a single, it might be shocking, suitable for the radio it isn't but it is a tune and memorable, for the right or wrong reasons, i'm yet to decide...
