Mr Yen Talks Jenny Grigg

By Paperrunway @paperrunway

Hello and welcome 2012.  For the first post of the year I thought I would feature the creative paper designs of Jenny Grigg.

On her website, Jenny has a great range of paper pieces that range from book covers to identities created for companies. Jenny is an Australian designer who has worked in advertising, publishing and the music industry and has also spent time working at Pentagram in London where she has designed book covers for Faber & Faber.
In the images above you can see some of the paper pieces that were used for book cover designs created by Jenny, but to see more of her great work you should visit her website here. You will find lots of projects using paper, silhouettes, vibrant colours and interesting concepts. Mixed in with identity design and editorial work, Jenny has created a wide range of exciting and simplistic book covers that are beautiful enough to make anyone want to read what’s inside.
The combination of clever concepts and themes that Jenny uses creates striking imagery for book covers which makes them stand out from others! I would love to see the paper pieces that were used for the cover designs as they look so delicate and fragile – I think they’re made from a very light tissue paper!

Mr Yen (also known as Jonathan Chapman) studied at Leeds College of Art and gained a BA HONS in Graphic Design. After leaving University in 2010 he had the opportunity to work on a few freelance design projects for companies such as Computer Arts Magazine and LYNX. In between freelance projects he creates hand cut papercut artwork that is for sale here. Visit him online at www.shop.mr-yen.com  and mr-yen.blogspot.com.
