MQM MPA Sajid Qureshi Gunned Down in Karachi

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MPA Sajid Qureshi and his son were gunned down by unknown armed men in the North Nazimabad area of Karachi.

Member Sindh Assembly Sajid Qureshi and his son Waqas had just come outside a mosque after offering the Friday Prayer when the unidentified assistants opened fire on them. His other son sustained critical injuries while attempting to rescue his father.

Sajid Qureshi and Waqas succumbed to their wounds on the way to hospital. His second son is said to be in critical condition.

Sajid Qureshi was elected from PS-103 constituency of the Sindh Assembly in May 11 polls.

Tension prevailed in the different areas of the metropolis following the killing that led to the business closure.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain strongly condemned the killing of Sajid Qureshi and his son and announced three-day mourning over the incident.
