Verdict: Uncomfortable Boring
Story: The Terror Experiment starts with a warning from a mystery man who knows he will be called a terrorist for his upcoming actions. He sets off a biological weapon within the Federal building with leads to chaos and causes the people inside to transform into bloodthirsty creatures. Flash back to 4 hours earlier as we meet our characters who are going about their normal day in the Federal building. We have Cale (London) who is setting a bad example to his daughter who stays in the day-care center in the building. Mandy (Willis) an agent bring bought in for mission and most importantly we get mystery man with the bomb he is about to unleash.
We are back at the chaos again and we now watch the characters we have just met try and find their way out of the situation. We have Dr Andzari (Leggio) Mandy, Cale along with a few more survivors as they find a safe place to hide out, while Chief Grosso (Howell) and his firefighters lead by Lohan (Munro) plan a rescue but are taking advice from Dr Wexler (Carradine). Agent Wilson (Nelson) turns up to take control of the situation while the tensions continue to rise both inside and outside the building.
The Terror Experiment is a concept which should be great edge of your seat action but ends up being a lot of talking and talking about the same thing over and over. The idea is simple but for some reason we get a terrorist angle which never really gets explained and to make matters worse we get the most generic characters possible. The idea is too easy to follow and we don’t end up clashing with enough potential problems to make any of what happens worthwhile, you can tell how cheaply made this film was just by seeing the story unfold. Actor Review
Jason London: Cale is a member of the security team in the building, he knows all the passwords but wants to save his daughter once the building comes under attack. Jason looks well out of his depth as a leading actor. (2/10)
C Thomas Howell: Chief Grosso is the man trying to control the situation but ends up having to take orders from a higher up agent. Mr Howell is making a habit of turning up in the cheaply made horror films and doing a standard job. (4/10)
Alicia Leigh Willis: Mandy is an agent who gets trapped inside the building while receiving orders for her next mission. She has to use her skills to help guide the other survivors out alive. Alicia does a standard job as the agent who simply can’t hold a gun. (5/10)
Robert Carradine: Dr Wexler is the man who created the bioweapon and tries to control the situation before it gets out of hand. Robert does what he needs to with this doctor with alternative motives. (4/10)
Judd Nelson: Agent Wilson is the man bought in to cover up everything that is going on, he will not accept anyone else words just wants to cover it up. Judd makes for a good agent but never really shows any acting class. (4/10)
Support Cast: The Terror Experiment has a supporting cast who turn up in small amount of scenes but never manage to make any impact on the story and most used for disposable reasons.
Director Review: George Mendeluk – George fails to make an interesting film that could have used an good concept instead we get a messy predicable film. (3/10)
Action: The Terror Experiment has plenty of explosion or fire fights but nothing original or memorable. (4/10)
Horror: The Terror Experiment loses any horror levels it has with terrible build, no fear in the characters and laughable infected. (1/10)
Thriller: The Terror Experiment puts you off caring early on and simply put you just don’t care what happens. (2/10)
Settings: The Terror Experiment uses the setting well because the character become trapped without having a way to communicate to the outside world, but that is the only positive in the film. (8/10)
Special Effects: The Terror Experiment has laughable special effects and with the budget of 5 Million you would expect better. (0/10)
Suggestion: The Terror Experiment is a great big AVOID THIS going on it because it was simply terrible. (Avoid)
Best Part: The Setting.
Worst Part: The Rest
