Verdict: Scare Filled Horror
Story: Restoration starts when Dr Rebecca Jordan (O’Brien) and her husband Todd (Gaeta) move into a new home where the old inhabitant had a large collection of teddy bears. While Rebecca works Todd has to restore the house and deal with the neighbours Harold (Ward) and Francine (Schultz).
Cleaning up the house they find one teddy bear has a diary inside but this only unlocks strange occurrences around the house. When the couple learn there might be a haunting going on inside their house they work together to uncover the truth which neither are ready to learn about.
Restoration is everything I love to watch in a horror movie with the ghost haunting while trying to solve their murder. We get the traditional new family moving into the house which has been waiting to settle down for now. We have the over-friendly neighbours but sadly don’t get enough false leads to what could be happening. This is all good when it comes to horror genre.
Actor Review
Emily O’Brien: Rebecca Jordan is the doctor in the family and is the reason why they move in the first place. She gets close to her patients but not long after moving into the new house she starts seeing a ghostly girl in her dreams. She must work with her husband to solve this case and put the spirit to rest once and for all. Emily gives us a great leading role where we see her at her strongest and weakest.
Adrian Gaeta: Todd Jordan is the husband of Rebecca who is restoring the house, he gets an up close and personal visit from the spirit haunting the house before working with his wife to solve the mystery. Adrian is good in this role that is a nice reverse in a horror with the stay at home male character.
Zack Ward: Harold is one of the neighbours that is dying of cancer, he is there when Todd gets injured he is very friendly if sometimes talks too much. Zack is good in this supporting role.
Sarah Ann Schultz: Francine is the wife of Harold that is always inviting the Jordan’s over for dinner or coming over to make sure they get breakfast. Sarah is also good in this supporting role.
Support Cast: Restoration has a small supporting cast that only fill in the gaps to the final outcome of the story.
Director Review: Zack Ward – Zack gives us a horror with good scares, a ghost investigation story that does keep us guessing and a final outcome that will leave you in shock.
Horror: Restoration does touch on my favorite elements of horror with a ghost haunting to solve their murder which is used to create good scares
Settings: Restoration uses the settings well, but doesn’t keep us in one place too often.
Special Effects: Restoration only uses effects when needed and all come off well.
Suggestion: Restoration is one for the horror fans to go out and watch. (Horror Fans)
