Verdict: Beyond Terrible
Story: Lake Placid 2 starts when we hear the figures of the people that have gone missing in the lake, Sheriff Riley (Schneider) has got his son Scott (Collins) for the summer when Riley has to start to investigate to what is missing after a local has a friend go missing. When Riley has to team up with old flame Emma (LaFleur) the Parks and wildlife representative. When her old enemy Struthers (McMurray) an elite hunter turns up we are left with the same ideas of a cast from the first one.
Riley, Emma and Struthers must hunt down a crocodile bigger than the previous one that has gain a thirst for human blood. Riley has to keep the people safe while trying to get to his son who has gone for party on the lake.
Lake Placid 2 is the sequel to one of the fun filled horror comedies but this time we get something which is purely awful. We get terribly written characters that are boring rip offs of over characters. This is one film that nobody should see and I really don’t know how it got made.
Actor Review
John Schneider: Sheriff Riley has to investigate what is taking people on the lake. He has to supporting Emma the Park and Wildlife employee who has derestriction on the lake. Riley’s challenges come as he tries to save his son who has gone out on the lake. John is poor in this role that clearly looks out of place.
Sarah Lafleur: Emma is the Parks and Wildlife representative trying to capture the crocodile running wild in the lake, she wants to achieve this the humane way but soon finds out she is up against something bigger than she has ever seen. Sarah is poor and I am still not sure what her character’s name is.
Sam McMurray: Struthers is an elite hunter that has always clashed with Emily due to his lack of care about what animals he kills. He sees this crocodile as the biggest challenge of his career but has be bitten off more than he can handle. Sam takes the Oliver Platt role and well he isn’t Oliver Platt.
Chad Michael Collins: Scott is the son of Sheriff Riley, he is on the lake for the summer due the custody and finds himself going to have a party with some of the locals unaware of the danger in the lack. Chad is average in this where he doesn’t do anything in this role.
Support Cast: Lake Placid 2 has a largely forgettable supporting cast.
Director Review: David Flores – David gives us a horrible sequel to a fun film.
Horror: Lake Placid 2 has no horror in what is meant to be a horror film.
Sci-Fi: Lake Placid 2 I am not sure why it is classed as a sci-fi film.
Settings: Lake Placid 2 is on a lake which works I guess.
Special Effects: Lake Placid 2 has dreadful effects to create the crocodile and kills.
