It's not often that I say I like the sequel better than the original, but in the case of Paddington 2, that is the truth! While I greatly enjoyed the first Paddington movie (hence my eagerness to watch the second one), I was overjoyed to find that Paddington 2 was even more fun and clever. Paddington's positive attitude and willingness to see the good in everyone was truly inspiring and a great lesson for children. I laughed out loud at his efforts to find employment, particularly at a barber shop and as a window washer. These were all in an attempt to earn money to purchase a beautiful book for his dear Aunt Lucy, who adopted him as an orphan cub. Even his experiences in jail were incredibly moving and amusing, not scary for children. Hugh Grant was the perfect choice for the "villain" who framed Paddington for the theft of the book. I love a man who doesn't mind making a fool of himself, and Grant's arrogant and ridiculous character was spot-on. Paddington's human family loved him fiercely and did everything they could to clear his name and bring him home. I laughed and cried from start to finish and highly recommend Paddington 2 for the whole family!
