Google-owned mobile phone maker, Motorola took the stage at a special event in Brazil to unveiled its latest smartphone, Moto G. The affordable smartphone comes with a very low price at $179 but with surprisingly impressive specs and features. It also shares the same design of the Moto X, but with a slightly curved back. Motorola aims to take-on the global smartphone market using this premium phone.
Do not make the mistake of categorizing Moto G as a budget smartphone as it comes packed with great features including a 4.5 inch HD display with 1280 x 720 resolution, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1GB of RAM, 5 MP rear camera and 8GB/16GB internal storage. Moto G will run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean at launch. However, Google promises the latest Andriod 4.4 KitKat update for the phone in January 2014.
Despite the cheap price tag, Moto G is a powerful phone that has enough features to compete against many other flagship phones. Motorola claims that Moto G “outperforms the iPhone 5s” as well as Galaxy S4, as mentioned by Tech Crunch.

“We think there should be a better option. Everybody deserves to be on the mobile Internet, and price shouldn’t stand in the way of anyone having a truly good smartphone to get them there,” Motorola stated on a blog post. The company believes that Moto G offers the best features for people “who don’t want to pay $600 or more for high-end smartphones”
Moto G is now available in Brazil and some parts of Europe. It will be heading out to the U.S. starting “in early January.”
