What would a mother-daughter duo, who love to party and play dress up, do when they decide to stir things up for Mother's day ???? Well, they do what they do best AKA get dressed up and have a tea party at AMERICAN GIRL .......
MOTHER'S DAY is just around the corner and Ribhya and I are having a tea party and you all are invited......
Thanks to American Girl for the all things Parisian setup, Dainty Jewells for our pretty outfits and Armand Hugon for the photography.
Growing up, Ribhya was never a dolly-doll girl, but in the last few months, her interest in girly-girl stuff seems to have evolved. She has been playing more with her kitchen toys, her doll house and also in my closet- whomp whomp ! We bought her, her first American girl doll CAMILLE ( learn about her HERE ) a couple of weeks ago. Ever since then she has been wanting to have a tea party at their bistro, and today was the day.
American Girl is like a doll-town, there is dolls: big and small, doll salon: for hair styling and ear piercing and doll bistro: for brunch, lunch, tea and dinner. Have your daughter's birthday celebration or just gather with your GFs and your daughter's GFs and their dollys, American Girl is the place to be.
Depending on which day you are going to the Bistro, you might have to make a reservation. Our's was a Thursday tea, so we did not have to make one. Walk-ins are welcome....Do let them know of your allergies and food restrictions ( both health and religious ) and they will do their best to honor all your requests.
We checked in and got seated right away. Thereafter our stewardess got us the menu and a seat for the dolly too. The menu had tea selections for the adults and juice options for the kids. I ordered the Chamomile delight and Ribhya ordered the pink lemonade.
She was so thrilled to have her own teapot and her expression was worth documenting when she got to pour the lemonade into her own tea and saucer set.
While we sipped our tea and waited for the food to arrive, we played the trivia game. Very simple, kid-friendly questions and indeed a good way to keep them entertained.
Then came the three-tier snack bites. There was fruit kebab, muffins, cucumber and turkey sandwiches, cheese burgers and nugget rolls, all finger foods. I went straight for the cucumber sandwich, Ribhya for the muffin and Camille for the turkey sandwich.....lol ! Needless, to say everything was yum and well-presented.
As soon we were done with our second course, the dessert arrived. Our stewardess got us individual dessert servings comprising of chocolate mousse, a cookie and a cupcake, of which-the chocolate mousse was my favorite. Ribhya loved the cookie ands she ate mine too.
For favors, the stewardess got Ribhya a game-making kit. It had dice, stickers, a small pouch and all that she would need to make a doll-game of her own.
We had such a great time at the Bistro, the tea, the food, the ambiance: everything was so Parisian perfect. After all this food-shenanigan, we decided to shop and play and take some pictures and also take Camille to the Salon.
So if you are ever looking to take your kiddo for something different, take them to American Girl. Let your kid's inner star enjoy there. I promise, the unlimited hugs and kisses will thrill your heart.
