This chart reflects information in a new Economist / YouGov Poll -- done between September 3rd and 5th of a random national sample of 1,500 adults (including 1,309 registered voters), with a margin of error of 3 points.
About 81% say Trump understands the problems and issues of White people, and 87% say he does the same for rich people. But other groups don't fare so well in Trump's eyes according to public opinion.
They are split on whether he understands the problems and issues of working men and women (51% to 49%) -- within the survey's margin of error.
But majorities say he doesn't understand the problems and issues of Hispanics (60%), Blacks (55%), poor people (58%), or people like them (54%).
It looks like the public is starting to understand what Trump means about MAGA -- making the country great for Whites and the rich. Not so much for other Americans.
