Trump, and GOP congressmen, claimed the tax cuts they passed would benefit most Americans. It has not worked out that way. While the rich (and corporations) will see big tax savings, that is not true of everyone. In fact, most people say they will either pay more or pay the same.
This is why the Republicans did not campaign on their tax cuts in the 2018 election, and won't campaign on them in 2020 either. They know the tax cut has backfired on them.
