Our lives are a result of the actions we take every day. Your destiny, the life you want to live will not happen by accident. Success is very intentional. It is not a one time thing, it is a habit. Build the right habits by starting your day with this morning routine that will accelerate your journey to success. Follow this routine before you begin your work day. It will help you center yourself before getting caught up in the rush of a regular work day.

1. Ask yourself the right questions – Every thought and the action that follows is a result of a question you ask yourself. Most of these questions are a subconscious thought, like should I take a left or a right turn? Every minute of the day you are asking yourself a question, consciously or subconsciously, so why not start the day by consciously asking yourself questions that will put you in the right state of mind for abundance. I start the day by asking myself these questions:

  • What am I excited, proud and grateful about in my life?
  • How will today add to my life?
  • What do I love and who loves me?
  • How will I use today to live my life purpose and change the world?
  • How will I use today to learn and grow mentally, spiritually, emotionally and physically?
  • What am I committed to achieving and producing in my life today?

2. Visualize – Close your eyes and picture yourself achieving everything you want in life. Make this image vivid and real. Feel the emotions you would feel when you actualize your dreams. We are emotional creatures so use these emotions to drive you forward. You can visualize your life 1 year from now, 5 years from now or even just to the end of the day. Maybe you have a big event in your life today. Visualize how you want that event to go. Picture the result you want to achieve. Make it real in your mind and it will become real.

3. Move – Start the day with some exercise. It doesn’t have to be a 15 mile run, it could just be a few pushups, crunches and squats. Whatever it is, jumpstart your day by increasing your heart rate and developing your body, just as you develop your mind, heart and spirit with this routine. Even just a short amount of exercise in the morning will help you wake up and reenergize you for the day ahead.

4. Review your purpose – Start the day by reminding yourself of your overall life purpose. If you haven’t written one down, I recommend you taking on that process. This will serve as your guide. No matter what you are doing every day, ask yourself, is this in line with my purpose here on this earth? By writing it down and reviewing it every morning, it will remain in the back of your mind in order for you to act on it every day. A simple life purpose statement will ensure you stay on track and keep you on the road to mastery of the human potential.

5. Read – You have spent some time developing your heart, body and spirit, now grow your mind. Complete your “morning success routine” by reading something that will help you achieve your goals. A book that will help you grow as a person and learn more about the art of success. There are hundreds and thousands of books in this category. Some classics are “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill and “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie. This can be for just 10-15 minutes every morning, but by doing this before you start your day, you are setting the day up to be one of personal growth in all aspects of your life.

These 5 steps can take less than half an hour. Do them and follow through with them every day. They will change your life. I know we are all busy in our lives, but what can be more important than developing your mind, body, heart and spirit? Achieve mastery in those 4 areas of your life and everything else will follow. Moving forward one inch at a time, you get to control your destiny. What do you choose?
