Unlike my first set of stark black and white paintings, which I painted as a diptych, I wanted these next two to have more "stuff" in them. First I painted over a lot of the faint black marks created through dry brush in my first painting session. I let this white paint dry thoroughly before I went back to the black, working on the central shapes.
Then I drew sketchy lines in black to add more interest to the central shapes. But I am still not happy with these, and will continue working on them after the black dries.
