This of course is one of the all-time great Bob Dylan songs, but it also has some excellent covers. Here they are:
I have never heard of Antony and the Johnsons before, but apparently there is a female lead singer. This song is heartbreaking in its utter beauty.
An absolutely glorious and beautiful version that soars to the skies and then plunges down again by Fairport Convention. FC was a British group that specialized on old British (English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish) folk music set to modern arrangements. The female lead singer was named Sandy Denny and her silver voice beats all contenders. Sandy Denny is God! Or Goddess!
This is a widely hated pure instrumental version by a group called 8 Bit that I have never heard of. Sounds like it was all done on synthesizer. Reminds me of early Devo. Although apparently no one likes this cover, I actually rather like it.
