MOP Fertilizer Bundle Reduced to Rs.9,000

Agriculture and Plantation Industries Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said that the MOP fertilizer, commonly known as ‘Bandi Pohora’, will be reduced to Rs.9,000 for the upcoming harvest season.

He said the Cabinet approved a proposal to reduce the price of a bundle of MOP which was sold for 19,000 rupees to 9000 rupees.

The minister said this while participating in a ceremony to pay compensation to farmers for crop damage in the last Yala Season held in Embilipitiya yesterday (26).

MOP Fertilizer will be supplied at the above price by both state-owned and private fertilizer distributors. The Government offered Rs.100 million as compensation for crop damages in the Yala season for farmers in the Walawa region yesterday (26).
