MoonPay, a company that used to handle crypto payments and is now a Web3 infrastructure company, has just bought the Web3 creative agency Nightshift. This completes the services it offers to brands that are building for Web3.
MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright said in a press release that with this latest acquisition, the company will be able to offer “world-class, end-to-end support” to all of its current and future clients.
Nightshift, which is based in Toronto, is changing its name to Otherlife. Importantly, existing Nightshift clients will see no disruption in service, as the agency will continue to serve them under its new name.
Why MoonPay buying Nightshift matters?
With the acquisition of Nightshift by MoonPay, the Web3 infrastructure business has acquired one of the Web3’s leading creative companies. As Nightshift, the firm managed creatives for Web3-native customers such as Coinbase, Adam Bomb Squad, and OpenSea, among others. The agency has given branding, design, and Web3 product strategy services for clients including Arsenal Football Club, Shopify, and Playboy, among others.
MoonPay’s CEO, Ivan Soto-Wright, lauded the recently acquired creative agency. “With the addition of Otherlife, we can provide companies, brands, and creative agencies with world-class, end-to-end support to unlock new revenue through groundbreaking Web3-based products, experiences and ideas,” he said in the press release. “I’ve been a great admirer of everything Perrow, Moodie and the team at Otherlife have created. And I’m excited about what we’ll build together.”
Otherlife will serve some of the world’s largest companies, Web3 or otherwise, as MoonPay works toward its long-term aim of onboarding the world into Web3 via its existing and future clients.
“Reflecting our continued focus on innovation and creativity, Otherlife’s brand is a renewal of our commitment to providing cutting-edge creative solutions and our dedication to staying at the forefront of the web3 industry,” said Otherlife Creative Director and Co-Founder Michael Moodie. “We will continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible while staying true to our genesis values,” he said.
What’s next for MoonPay?
MoonPay is well-equipped to support legacy companies enter Web3 with this new partnership. MoonPay has dramatically increased its offerings in 2022 to help its current and future clients enter Web3. MoonPay launched HyperMint in June 2022 to simplify NFT minting for individuals and large corporations.
Much of the enthusiasm surrounding Otherlife’s acquisition can be attributed to MoonPay’s efforts to make entering Web3 as frictionless as possible. Through its partnership with Universal Parks and Resorts, MoonPay was able to show to park attendees how simple it is to interact with NFTs by utilizing POAP NFTs seamlessly.
“MoonPay’s wallets, smart contracts, on-ramps, and growing infrastructure provide endless support for our growing roster of clients,” said Otherlife CEO and Co-Founder Michael Perrow. “We look forward to extending our bespoke offerings and providing true end-to-end solutions for AAA brands.”
