Montessori Inspired Activities for My 27 Month Old

By Smilinglikesunshine @smilinglikesuns
It has been about 3 months since Derin (27 months)  started attending to a Montessori nursery. He only goes two days a week, for 3 hours but it has had a huge impact. I love how he puts an activity back on the shelf when he is finished! I really enjoy observing his development. As he gets closer to 2.5 years, his attention span is getting longer. Here are some activites we have been doing recently.

Knobbed cylinders

These knobbed cylinders are great for fine motor skills and they teach children so much about dimensions.

Playing with wooden shapes:Here he is making a train!

Opposites puzzle

We have just started playing with puzzles. He is getting better at connecting them. I love this opposites puzzle because it opens up lots conversations.

Getting really good at this!

Introduction to sandpaper numbers

Derin is showing great interest in numbers and letters at the moment,so I introduced these sandpaper numbers. He loves tracing them.
