MONOWHALES Announces New Album, Daytona Bleach!

By Phjoshua @thereviewsarein

Toronto indie all-stars MONOWHALES are preparing for their next big move as they announced the release of their upcoming album, Daytona Bleach, set for March 5, 2021.

The trio made the announcement on the same day they released a new single, Out With The Old, and certainly capitalized on the excitement and attention to make sure folks got the news. With 7 tracks included (listed below), Daytona Bleach offers bangers that we already know and love, the new bop, OTWO, and promises more with the yet to be heard remainder.

Note: In a press release, drummer Jordan Circosta says "'Out With The Old' is an anthem for the disenfranchised. It's about the loss of innocence and entitlement we've all experienced over the past year. In the midst of a paradigm shift, we have no choice but to embrace the new reality of our lives and take a vicious grip on hope in spite of it all." Vocalist Sally Shaar adds, "As a band, we try our best to always move forward with positivity despite the darkness. We are working towards more caring, nurturing and inclusive ways of thinking and treating one another."

In a post on social media announcing the upcoming album, the band said, "We've waited SO LONG to share this with you and we honestly can't believe the day is finally here! Every single thing we've learned, felt, won, and lost over the past two years is embedded in the grooves of this record and we are so excited that it won't be long before you can hold it in your hands and cram it into your earholes." And we can't wait either!

In 2020, RWLYD climbed to #2 on the Mediabase Canada Alternative Rock Chart, they were the #1 most-played unsigned artist at Alternative radio and the #11 most-played overall. And, All Or Nothing cracked the Top 10 as well. It was a banner year, and clearly, with the release of Daytona Bleach on the way, they've got no plans to slow things down in 2021.

MONOWHALES - RWLYD

In 2018, at Canadian Music Week, we first met and saw MONOWHALES. We watched them entertain the hell out of the Toronto crowd at The Phoenix Concert Theatre. We talked to them about their (at the time) upcoming EP, , and we made a note to keep an eye on them as they moved forward. We have, and it's been awesome to watch, and more awesome to listen to.

We already know RWLYD, All Or Nothing, BL/FF (Fake Friends), and now Out With The Old. And we can't wait to know He Said/She Said (I Wait), Over My Head, and I Don't Think About You. Daytona Bleach is set up to be a lot of fun over 24 minutes, and it all drops on March 5, 2021.
