Monday Mood- Nyfw Trend Spotting

By Saumya Shiohare @myriadmusings1
Happy Monday lovelies
I just got back from my first NYFW trip and I have to admit " what an experience it was " ! The streets especially around Skylight Clarkson Sq was like a sea of glamour and the fashionistas were like pretty mermaids swimming around. Every girl looked prettier and chicer than the girl next to her. I was so thrilled to witness this metamorphosis and how far we have come along in this sea we called " FASHION " !
I did take up a lot of style notes and a few dominant trends that were sighted all around were : velvet, brocade, tweed, fur and lace. Anything feminine and luxe and it was there. Luckily I had shot this look last week before heading out to NY over the weekend and made sense for me to share this look with you coz it features two trends : velvet and tweed ! How: let's keep reading ???

 WHAT I AM WEARING
velvet blouse- Zara,  loving this bodysuit  pants- via Last Call Neiman Marcus (a trendy option ) straw bucket bag- Zara , this one is under $50  tweed mules- Sam Edelman ( same, with tassel )

VELVET- velvet is going to be huge this fall. I had my own inhibitions about this luxe fabric. I always stereotyped this fabric to sleazy clothing, but  the way designers are revolutionizing this fabric is worth acknowledging. With pastel shades, classic silhouettes and palatable designs, velvet now holds a special place in my heart. Not only am I donning velvet blouses, shoes and handbag, this powder blue velvet dress is on it's way to my closet too. I am all over this fabric, especially after seeing it on the streets of NYC.

TWEEDTweed is a rough, woolenfabric, of a soft, open, flexible texture, resembling cheviot or homespun, but more closely woven. It is usually woven with a plain weave, twill or herringbone structure. As you can tell from my shoes, the top of it is in tweed. A recent addition to my closet, these tweed mules from Sam Edelman are sure to get a lot of sighting on my feed and yours too. Talking about which , mules was another shoe-trend to be seen on the streets of NYFW. Fashionistas strutted around the streets in low and high heeled mules, in fancy-shmancy designs and eye-catching colors. It is sure a keeper in my wardrobe, for all it's aesthetic and comfort factors.  Coming back to tweed, a good tweed jacket is a must in every closet and I am eyeing these tweed pieces, one of which will surely walk the runway with me.
