Mommy's Sleepless Nights

By Thepracticalmommy2 @PracticalMommy2

Once a mom, you can kiss sleep goodbye.

My daughter has recently switched to a toddler bed and has moved into her big brother's room. She's just about 23 months, not even two just yet. It's a princess bed, and her new favorite thing. She was so excited about all of it...
...except the sleeping all night part.
She is staying in that bed most of the night now, but there's still an hour in the middle of the night of which she is WIDE awake. And it's pretty much been that way since she was born.
What does that mean to me? Well, that I haven't had one single solid night of sleep since she's been born.  Not one. It's been 23 months and counting. Not that I've ever been a good sleeper myself; I have always been a light sleeper, capable of living on only 5 hours of sleep. But still, when those five hours are interrupted, it ain't kosher with my body.
I've tried withholding naps, but she's evil in the middle of the day without one. I made the naps earlier in the day, but that does nothing. I've even allowed her to take a bottle (GASP!) to bed (WHAT A TERRIBLE MOTHER!) but that doesn't appease her either.
I've resigned to the fact that I'll never sleep well again, at least for the next three to four years (did I mention Baby #3 is on the way?). That and my son, who slept well since birth, spoiled me.
I assume there will be a day when she'll sleep through the night. Somewhere, over the rainbow, where the unicorns gather and the heffalumps and woozles steal honey from tubby little bears...
Have sleepless nights with your little ones? What do you do?
